        Plastic surgeon and TikTok influencer Youn (The Age Fix, 2016) shares ways to look (and feel) younger without going under the knife. He believes that people have the power to tackle lifestyle conditions that accelerate aging and encourages readers to focus especially on improving their nutrition. He instructs readers to skip fried foods like bacon, refined carbs, and sugar-sweetened or artificially sweetened beverages in favor of salmon, blueberries, nuts, carrots, and spices. Pointing to studies in mice that show how restricting calories and eating only during the most active time of day led to a 35 percent increase in longevity, he suggests readers follow similar guidelines. (If the studies were to translate to humans, this would raise the average lifespan from 73 to 98.) What else works? Reduce stress, limit exposure to pollution, and decrease alcohol intake. Not everyone may want to try his DIY apricot facial, but his overall message about appreciating life, learning new things, and forgiving rather than holding grudges is a positive and empowering one.
