Two restaurant critics learn their opposing tastes might make for a five-star relationship in the next foodie romantic comedy from the author of Sadie on a Plate.
By day, Julie Zimmerman works as an executive assistant. After hours, she’s @JulieZeeEatsNYC, a social media restaurant reviewer with over fifty thousand followers. As much as she loves her self-employed side gig, what Julie really wants is to be a critic at a major newspaper, like the New York Scroll. The only thing worse than the Scroll’s rejection of her application is the fact that smarmy, social-media-averse society boy Bennett Richard Macalester Wright snagged her dream job.

While at the Central Park Food Festival, Julie confronts the annoyingly handsome Bennett about his outdated opinions on social media and posts the resulting video footage. Julie's follower count soars—and so does the Scroll’s. Julie and Bennett grudgingly agree to partner up for a few reviews to further their buzz. Online buzz, obviously.

Over tapas, burgers, and more, Julie and Bennett connect over their shared love of food. But when the competitive fire between them turns extra spicy, they'll have to decide how much heat their relationship can take.

A foodie influencer teams up with a pretentious food critic in this zesty rom-com from Elliot (Sadie on a Plate). Julie Zimmerman works as an executive assistant but her true passion is trying trendy New York City restaurants and posting food reviews on social media. However, her meager salary has always placed a limit on her success; without a newspaper backing her financially, she has to pay for all her meals out of pocket. When she runs into haughty Bennett Wright, new restaurant critic for the powerful New York Scroll, at a food festival, his entitled demeanor sets her off, and their encounter ends in a shouting match. But when a video of them squabbling goes viral, boosting both of their platforms, they reluctantly agree that working together could be mutually beneficial. Despite their vastly different lifestyles, their shared love for food brings them closer, and their early contempt is replaced by undeniable, intoxicating chemistry. This classic enemies-to-lovers plot is a slow burn, but the result is worth the wait and the food descriptions along the way will make readers salivate. Romance fans are sure to be charmed. Agent: Merrilee Heifetz, Writers House.

Anna Caputo narrates Elliot's (Sadie on a Plate) enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance featuring two New York City food reviewers. A battle ensues when food critics Bennett and Julie clash over which style of review is better: print or social media. Julie struggles to grow her @JulieZeeEatsNYC persona around her day job as an executive assistant. Bennett is the newly appointed food writer for a major NYC newspaper. After a public argument results in lots of social media buzz for Bennett's publication and Julie's online platform, the two agree to a competition reviewing the same places. As they dine on New York City's plethora of unique culinary delights, their animosity wanes, and they soon realize that the heat between them isn't coming just from the kitchen. Caputo's pleasant voice entices listeners as she brings the characters and the scrumptious foods they enjoy to life. As she details Julie and Bennett's foodie journey toward love, Caputo spices her animated performance with the right amount of humor. Listeners will be entertained and drawn into their tale, despite many characters having similar voices. VERDICT A delicious performance that will leave listeners both satisfied with the story and hungry for some delicious meals.--Amanda L. S. Murphy
