The Authentic Life of Billy the Kid

Pat Garrett wrote this firsthand account of Billy the Kid and it was for decades considered to be the historical and factual account of Garrett's tracking and killing of William H Bonney in the summer of 1881. Whilst it is now seen as not perhaps being completely truthful it is nonetheless an engaging work and a fascinating journey into the relationship of the Marshall and the infamous killer.
