Deadly Edge bids a brutal adieu to the 1960s as Parker robs a rock concert and the heist goes south. Soon Parker finds himself—and his woman, Claire—menaced by a pair of sadistic, drug-crazed hippies. Parker has a score to settle, while Claire's armed with her first rifle—and they're both ready to usher in the end of the age of Aquarius.

Michael Kramer reads this amoral tale in an inflectional monotone for both male and female characters, successfully capturing the monochrome world of the sociopath. Parker and his accomplices are professional crooks. We see the criminal mind at work as the characters attempt to escape, not from the good guys trying to bring them to justice, but from other crooks who are trying to steal from them. This book is too violent to read in broad daylight with the sun shining and too scary to listen to with the lights out in bed. M.D.H. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine
