Gr 8-10-Romance and life-threatening illnesses abound when several characters from previous series entries are reunited at Jenny House, a camp for seriously ill young people and their families. Former campers Katie and her ex-boyfriend, Josh, are reunited here as counselors, and readers learn that track-star Katie is actually a heart-transplant survivor and that Josh's brother was the donor. A summer working in close proximity brings the couple's romantic feelings back to the surface, feelings that are forced into the open after he has a terrible riding accident that threatens to leave him paralyzed. The author portrays the young adults well, showing their insecurities and strengths.
